Following on from my previous post about the breathtaking OZEN resort I wanted to share some more highlights of our trip, which included a champagne cruise watching wild dolphins at sunset, sunrise yoga and of course an abundance of exquisite food.
Additionally, one of the biggest perks of the indulgence package was undoubtedly the complimentary spa treatment that was included for all guests. You could choose from a whole range of treatments, from Swedish to Thai massages and then enjoy them in the tranquil setting of glass bottomed wooden villas suspended over the ocean.
There was also a vast assortment of excursions to participate in whilst at the resort. Snorkelling trips were free of charge and occurred twice daily and there were a variety of evening expeditions to choose from as well. We opted to go on a sunset cruise accompanied with champagne and the opportunity to see wild dolphins as they soared majestically out of the Indian ocean. To see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat was both an exquisite and uniquely humbling experience in equal measure.
As if the plethora of water sports and activities wasn’t enough, there was also a gym and full schedule of classes as well. Personally, I found the daily sunrise yoga particularly impressive. The tranquility of the practice was beautifully magnified by the surroundings and was the perfect way to begin the day. Lastly and arguably most importantly is the subject of the food at the resort. There are 5 restaurants to choose from, all of which offer distinctive and delicious cuisine from different regions. One of my personal favourites was IndoCeylon, which serves an amalgamation of dishes from Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives.
However, nothing could compare to the exclusive underwater restaurant, M6M. The fully immersive experience, in which you are surrounded by hundreds of brightly coloured fish and offered a seven course tasting menu of exotic Modern Seafood is an experience unlike any other. Chef Charitanya was even so kind as to share two of his incredible recipes with me, which I cannot wait to try out.
I hope you enjoyed this two part series about the stunning OZEN resort and if you are planning a trip to the Maldives, I could not recommend it enough.
