Nutristrength recently reached out and kindly offered to send me some of their protein powder, which is low in fat and lactose, whilst high in calcium and protein. Naturally I jumped at the chance to try their Morello Cherry flavour, given the fact that these tart cherries are currently in season in Europe and have therefore become synonymous with long, hazy summer days to me.
Not only did the flavour live up to my expectations, but it created the most wonderful creamy consistency when combined with the other ingredients in this recipe; it really is like having ice cream for breakfast. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Ingredients (serves 1):
1/2 scoop of Whey Protein Isolate Morello Cherry from Nutristrength
1 frozen banana
120 ml unsweetened almond milk
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1-2 vanilla stevia drops
- Add all of the ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a bowl and add desired toppings. I used cacao nibs and fresh berries.
