I recently had the chance to try one of the most fun ways you could imagine of working out: bouncing around on a trampoline for an hour. This is something a lot of people would have done as children and not really considered ‘exercise’ but nonetheless it’s a sweaty, tiring, rewarding workout that I will definitely be doing again.
Firstly, we were taken through a dance based routine, similar to a step class, with the added difficulty of performing the moves on a trampoline. Despite feeling a little wobbly at first, it was fairly easy to get into the swing of things after a few tracks. The cardiovascular benefits of rebounding were particularly evident from this part of the session and personally this is a form of cardio much more suited to me than running for example, as it was so much more dynamic and engaging.
We then moved into more plyometric based work, which was not only challenging and a lot of fun, but doing it on a trampoline meant that the movements were a lot easier on your joints. High knees and tuck jumps are interspersed with more strength based moves performed off the trampoline, like push ups and tricep dips, which not only kept things interesting, but also helped make sure that every part of your body was challenged.
We then got to enjoy some incredible post workout shakes, thanks to Motion Nutrition, my personal favourite being the coconut flavour.
We even got to leave with a bag full of goodies, including WATU Sportswear, a Glow juice, Blk water, runderwear, Hectares Sweet Potato Chips and the most delicious new flavour of bounce ball; Coconut Lemon.
