Last weekend I attended the latest instalment of Livia’s Cream-Free Cream Tea event series, this one being an Easter Special.
For those of you who don’t know, Olivia Wollenberg started off producing Livia’s crumbles, however, she’s recently made the business decision to focus on selling her raw millionaire bites instead. These come in three delicious flavours, including almond and raisin, salted date caramel and chocolate orange, which I had the pleasure of trying at this event. These bite sized treats taste so indulgent, it’s hard to believe they are made without gluten, dairy or refined sugar. I highly recommend heading to Selfridges to get your hands on a box (or two)!
Having tried Livia’s crumble in the past and having followed her on Instagram for a while, (which is where I found out about this event), I was so excited to try out her delicious creations. I attended the event with my good friend Emily, who I met last summer through one of the The Girl Gains events.
The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the absolutely beautiful layout of the event. Large ornate wooden tables were adorned with fresh bouquets, candles and an incredible selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. The attention to detail was immaculate, with handmade labels and ribbons tied perfectly around all the dishes and accompaniments.
Next came the scones, which were honestly the best scones I’ve ever had in my life. They were deliciously moist and topped with a homemade chia seed jam and natural peanut butter, it was impossible not to go back for seconds!
This was then followed by these delicious chocolate quinoa puff crispies and velvety smooth chocolate cupcakes.
Overall, I would highly recomnd attending one of the events in the future. Afternoon is a quintessentially english tradition and the fact that Olivia has managed to make this delicious treat without gluten, dairy or refined sugars is simply incredible.
