Hally’s has got to be one of my all time favourite eateries in London. Not only does it serve delicious food, but the atmosphere is laid-back and relaxing, with the interior being modelled on a Californian beach house, making it the perfect spot for a healthy brunch.
I’ve taken nearly all of my friends who have visited me in London here and it never fails to impress. It also happens to serve the best matcha lattes that I’ve ever tasted. My top tip would be to ask for almond milk in your latte, which makes it deliciously creamy and really enhances the flavour of the matcha.
Although this would deter me from most places, there is a Little Hally’s perfectly placed just across the road, where you can go and enjoy a fresh juice whilst you wait for your table. My personal favourite is the Green Dream, which is a combination of Spinach, Cucumber, Apple, Pear, Celery, Ginger and Lime.
I find green smoothies can sometimes taste a little too earthy for my liking, but the sweetness of the apple and pear, alongside the kick from the ginger and lime, counterbalances the more bitter notes of spinach, cucumber and celery. It also makes the perfect detox drink if you happen to have been out the night before!
The food choices are all excellent and the menu changes seasonally, which means there’s always something new to try out. I highly recommend the poppyseed bagel topped with smashed avo, sun-blushed tomatoes, bacon and a fried egg.
Both of these options not only taste incredible, but are also the perfect combination of protein, carbs and healthy fats, making a great pre or post workout meal!
There is definitely something for everyone though, including fresh pastries and cakes, sandwiches and burgers. The next on my list to try would have to be the ricotta pancakes with berries, fig, honey and crème fraîche!
