On Monday, the 7th of September, I went with my lovely friend Emily (a.k.a. beautifullygreen) to London’s only monthly event series aimed at health and wellness fanatics and entrepreneurs hosted by WellToDoLondon. WellToDoLondon is an amazing online lifestyle and fitness magazine aimed at raising awareness at all the amazing things happening in London’s health and wellness scene.
Upon arriving at the venue and taking our seats, we were gifted with gorgeous goody bags courtesy of Life Box, which contained a range of treats including coconut palm sugar and a sachet of Brazil Nuts.
For the next hour and a half, Welltodo’s founder Lauren Armes hosted a Q&A session with three amazing London based entrepreneurs. The panel included Co-Owner of Barry’s Bootcamp London and Nike Elite Trainer- Sandy Makaskill, Co-Founder of Botanic Lab– Rebekah Hall and Founder of The Detox Kitchen– Lily Simpson.
They covered a huge range of topics including what they did before starting their own business, how much they focus on their competitors in the wellness market and how important they find it to delegate within their business. They went on to discuss how important social media is to starting a business, as well as offering key pieces of advice for entrepreneurs.
It was amazing to hear from people that have not only done so well in their respective fields, but it was also incredibly refreshing that they were all so open and honest about their journeys, their struggles and how difficult it is to actually follow your dreams and make them a reality.
After a short Q&A from the audience, we received yet another goody bag. This one was courtesy of Planet Organic and contained a variety of delicious nibbles including Cacao Vanilla Rawkin’ Nola! We then headed upstairs for a chance to mingle with other like minded health and wellness enthusiasts. I particularly enjoyed getting to chat to the beautiful Jade (a.k.a. JadeJuices) who I’ve been following on instagram for a while now and find incredibly inspiring. I also loved meeting the founder of Secret Urban Escape, whose events are definitely on my London bucket list!
Overall I thought the event was a wonderful mix of eating, drinking, learning and socialising. I left feeling so inspired and having learned so much about not only health and fitness but also how to turn your passion into a career! I would highly recommend attending one of these monthly events if you are interested in getting into the heath and wellness industry at any time in the future, or simply want to meet other like-minded, inspiring individuals.
