Last Saturday I got to attend the biggest #GIRLGAINS event to date, which was in collaboration with the Reebok Club. I absolutely loved the last #GirlGains event, but in all honesty this was even bigger and better! If you want to learn more about this incredible movement, read this article.
The event took place in Montgomery Square in Canary Wharf and kickstarted with an intense HIIT workout led by Tally Rye. This was a summer body themed workout and was a lethal combination of plyometric exercises, as well as body weight strength moves. Although the workout was challenging, there was a fantastic atmosphere in the square, with 100 girls sweating it out in the sunshine to blasting music from a live DJ. As if this wasn’t enough fun for a workout, when you got down to perform the mat based work, you were looking up into the sky and the incredible multi-story buildings that surround the square. Not quite your usual gym experience!
I tried the Strawberry flavoured ice cream, which contains 150 calories, 0.8 grams of sugar, 4.3 grams of fat and 20.5 grams of protein- making it the perfect post workout snack that tasted completely indulgent!
Although the ice cream was delicious and the event phenomenal, it was the people that really made it an unforgettable experience. It was so amazing to meet so many like-minded girls, who were all extremely open and friendly. It’s an incredible feeling to know that you’re surrounded by people who all have similar interests and passions as you!
I attended the event with Nadia who I met at a running club a few weeks ago and I also got to meet Emily who’s instagram account I have been following for a while! It was so lovely to get to know these beautiful girls more and find out how much we have in common!
I can honestly say that I’ve made genuine friends after this event and I would highly recommend attending one if you are ever in London!
